Chuck Woodbury, Outwest News writes:
Your Home On Wheels
is perhaps the single best
book for the beginning RVer. Author Carol Ray
includes everything the newbie RVer needs to know
about RVs and the RV lifestyle. This is one of our
best selling books.
Your Home On Wheels" is a great resource for new
or aspiring fulltime RVers
RVer Carol Ray has written a best-selling book aimed
at educating beginning RVers — especially those who
plan to go fulltime — about their rigs and the RV
lifestyle. We have recommended this book for more
than two years now, have sold many, and have
received nothing but praise from everyone who read
it.
Ray wrote
Your Home On Wheels
shortly after she and her husband began traveling in
their first RV. She realized that beginning RVers
had a million questions,
but no good source for answers (before newrver.com).
The book includes chapters on what it takes to
become an RVer, choosing a recreational vehicle, how
to equip the RV, what to pack into the RV (from
towels to cookware), and how to turn an RV into
"Home Sweet Home". Ray also covers the topics of
finances, communication systems and internet service
while on the road. Many photos help illustrate her
lively text.
The book is written in a very "chatty", easy to read
format and contains what one reader called "a
goldmine of information, tips and stories"
to ease the inexperienced into the lifestyle of the
part time or full time RVer.
The author's manner of writing has been called
"charming", "funny", and "delightful to read," while imparting a great deal of information
to the reader. This book will assist them in their
decision making process, as well as the physical
aspects of traveling and living in a recreational
vehicle. The book includes a wealth of information.

Don't leave home without
this book!!

Reviewer: Rupert Hayes from Aiken, South
Carolina
Carol Ray's book is
not only what every RVer needs. If you are an RVer
and you don't buy this book it is like going fishing
and not bringing a fishing pole. Well-written,
illustrated with great stories, the book ought
to be in the glove compartment of every RV on the
road.

My husband and I came across this book by
accident, and as brand new RV'ers it has become
our bible! Out of all the "helpful" books and
magazines, and personal experiences, this book
has covered all we needed to know and then some;
right up to the decision to sell our home, what
type of RV to buy, which pickup to purchase and
what to take along, as well as where to go, how
to set up and how to break camp. We have found
every piece of advice to be accurate, and would
recommend that every RV'er have a copy of this,
whether they are just beginning or are long time
travelers.

You helped
change our lives!
My wife
and I cannot thank you enough for the book you
wrote! We have never done any rving before and
did not know where to turn. We, like you, have
read a half a dozen books but none gave us the basic
information we needed until we got your book.
The pages are already worn and we have used
everything from choosing the RV dealer to sitting in
our driveway for a week. You have saved us so
much time and money and we are having a wonderful
time on the road now. Even the meals in the
truck when necessary are a gift from you.
Thank you again,
Sam
Grisham .....seeing New England Carol style!
It is reviews like this that
make me feel really good about this simple little
product that came out of need and frustration.
Thank You! |

An eyeopener for a novice
RVer, November 26, 2001
Reviewer: LCDR R.J. Prinselaar from Fresno, CA USA
Being of a cautious
nature when spending money on recreation, I bought
"Your Home On Wheels", thinking it would
be a good idea to have some first hand knowledge.
I was NOT disappointed.In plain,easy to understand
language I was given RVing 101, and because of the
book I invested in a travel trailer.I say invested
because it was an investment to a happier lifestyle.
The book has kept me from making basic mistakes,
and assisted me in determining my needs for any
extended travel. It is definitely a book worth keeping
handy since it has some excellent checklists.
I highly recommend this book to anyone considering
becoming an active RVer. |

The one RV book you must
have, April 16, 2001
Reviewer: Leroy R. Bergstrom from Reno, NV United
States
My wife and I found
this gem on Amazon shortly after we bought
our first 5th wheel. While the author emphasis on
fifth wheel travel
and use, her book applies to other RV rigs about
as well. |
| |
We've read other books
that purport to be helpful to those new to RV's
or just new to fifth wheel's, but none even remotely
as knowlegably or effectively written. Having enjoyed
21 years in our 24' motorhome, and 3 years in a
35' trailer forty years ago, we aren't new to the
pleasures or potential problems of RV's. Yet this
is one book we've both read several times already
and it has a permanent place in
our new rig's library. If you don't have it already,
buy it! (No, we've never met the lady and don't
work for her publisher, either. But we hope to run
into her one day so we can say "thank you!"
properly). Le Pat

THE PAGES ARE ALREADY WORN!,

Reviewer: Jean K. Bartel from Pittsburgh, California
This book has been a wonderful
and valuable tool for me. I am a single woman
and have always dreamed of being able to travel
and live in an RV. Carol's book has given me everything
I need to know to get started, from the kind of
clothing I will need to how to keep things in
the cupboards from falling on my head after a
period of traveling. I have taken the book with
me to RV dealers, department stores and RV stores.
The pages are already worn from use. I recommend
this book to anyone who is even thinking about
getting started.

Excellent, August 19, 2000
Reviewer: Millie Hammel from Tamarac, Fl. USA
My husband and I are about to retire and decided
we wanted to purchase a 5th wheele and travel. We
purchased this book because it stated it was a "beginners
guide". I am really thankful we did. It has
already saved us from making some
big mistakes. There are so many helpful hints and
ideas. The book was written in such a way, you feel
like a friend wrote it. It is easy to read and understand
and written in simple language a beginner can understand.
It is an excellent book. |

This book was exactly what
we needed!, August 18, 2000
Reviewer: G. Hoffman from Atlanta, Georgia
My wife and I have been
thinking about full-time rving for a long time now
but had no idea as to how to get started. We found
"your home on wheels" to be just the ticket
we needed to enter this strange world.
The book was full
of all of the information we needed to begin looking
for a recreational vehicle (thank you for your
help in choosing an RV dealer), what we needed
to do to get started and also gave us the enthusiasm
we needed to push us over the top. The stories
were not just funny but a warning about what to
avoid. The tips, hints and checklists will be
of great value to us when we get started. And
at the top of our shopping list will be plexiglass
and velcro. We highly recommend this book to anyone
who is thinking about having this way of life.

Don't pass this book by!,
July 17, 2000
Reviewer: Cara E. Giaquinto from Islandia, NY USA
This was the first book
and the BEST book I bought on RV life. Carol Ray
writes as if she were your best friend speaking
with truth and honesty. Her advice on picking a
dealer and dealing with him on your RV sat inside
my head while working on my order. I wasn't afraid
to ask for more, to ask for different, to ask and
ask again. And I got all I asked for, got all those
EXTRAS and I walked away from the table the winner.
My trailer is coming fully loaded and I'm not paying
a penny more then the original asking price. My
husband said not a word at the table...just listened
as I went down my list of wants and needs. Which
I would not have had had I not taken the time to
read Ms. Ray's book not once, but twice! I found
the book easy to read, so I read it again to make
sure I got everything she wrote and spoke about
inside me. Ms. Ray saved me over $2000.00 in extras
and because of that my life on the road will be
much smoother to get used to. Thank you Ms. Ray
for taking the time to share your ideas, and to
do the research you did. |

A most helpful and entertaining
book to read,
Reviewer: Shirley McNeal from Buda, Texas
This book will be has
been most helpful to us. We are keeping this book
near us while we prepare to take our first trip
as part time rvers. Some of the shopping tips have
already saved space both in our trailer and in our
small apartment. People who live in small places
would be well to buy this book. Thank you
